Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Full Time-30 hours/week

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and materials.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, such as fillings, crowns, implants, dentures, extractions, etc.
  • Ensure the patient’s comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Greet and prepare patients for their visit.
  • Explain procedures and answer any questions patients may have.
  • Record and update patient medical histories and personal information.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
  • Perform preliminary assessments, including measuring blood pressure.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Monitor and order dental supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure the dental operatory is stocked and organized.
  • Follow protocols for infection control and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dental operatory and office.
  • Work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new dental assistants or staff members.
  • Provide patients with information on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Educate patients on preventive dental care and maintenance.
  • Be prepared to respond to dental emergencies and provide basic first aid as needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest dental technologies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dental Assistant in the state of TX is required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant is required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated surgical and nonsurgical tasks
  • Strong computer skills Denticon is preferred but is not required
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!

Pay Range

USD $23.00 - USD $26.00 /Yr.
