Overview

Colorado Periodontal Group is seeking a Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our growing specialty team! This is a part-time, 2 day per week position working Mondays and Tuesdays. In this role, you will be assisting the periodontist at one of our general dentistry clinics located in Colorado Springs. We work with a fantastic, easy going dentist and a team that thrives on team work. This is a great opportunity to gain some hands on surgical experience and delve into the fascinating world of periodontics!

 

Our ideal Periodontal Dental Assistant will have 2 or more years of experience assisting in a perio, endo, or oral surgery specific role. Schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30am-4:15pm 

Rate: $24-$32/hr, plus daily bonus opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest level of patient care and education while demonstrating exceptional chairside manner
  • Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatment
  • Ensure all consent forms are completed prior to the procedure
  • Assist the Periodontist with dental procedures using four handed dentistry
  • Ability to take, develop, and “mount” accurate, high-quality radiographs/intra-oral photos/CT scans
  • Clean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointment
  • Assist with inventory and ordering of dental supplies
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Follow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens)
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment
  • Assist the business administration team in scheduling patients and making post-operative calls

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience assisting in periodontics/oral surgery/endo required
  • X-Ray Certification required
  • Active CPR or BLS certification required
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia or willing to obtain
  • Certified Dental Assistant preferred
